Electronic OnBoard Recorders
The highway bill passed in June 2012 contains a provision for Electronic OnBoard Recorder (EOBR) development and use, with regulations requiring its implementation expected in 2016.
The primary function of EOBRs is envisioned as a recording device to collect information on driver’s actions. VehWare™ incorporates this primary EOBR function and by recording what happened around the vehicle prior to and during collision and near collision events transforms it into a tool to enhance safety and improve operations. VehWare™ provides the fleet operator with data on what the vehicle operator did, as well as the information necessary to determine why the actions were taken by the driver and why the event happened. |
